Apex Creek (Low Flow)

This is a partial listing of the West Kootenay's most frequented paddling destinations. These wild places are a joy and a blessing. Please treat them with the respect these locations and other users deserve.

 

The provided grade classifications are rough guides only and will vary with seasonal water levels. USE YOUR PROPER JUDGMENT! Use appropriate & up to date equipment, take swift water rescue training & CPR courses and NEVER paddle alone or without a helmet.

 

Park n' Play

  • Brilliant Wave: Intermediate/Expert. Class 3/4.
  • Trail Rock Island Hole/Wave: Intermediate/Expert:  Class 2/3.
  • Rivervale: Intermediate. Class 2/3.

 

Rivers and Creeks

  • Slocan River: Intermediate, Class 2+/3+ (S-bend).
  • Upper Slocan River - Passmore to Crescent Beach: Beginner-Intermediate, Class 1+/2
  • Salmo River: Intermediate/Advanced, April-May-June, Class, 3+/4. July, Class 3.
  • Wilson Creek: Adv. intermediate/Advanced, May-June, Class 4+. July-August, Class 3+/4
  • Koch Creek: Advanced/Expert, May-June, Class 4/5. July, Class 3+/4
  • Little Slocan River: Adv. intermediate, April-May, Class 3+. June, Class 3. July, Class 2/3.

 

Most other West Kootenay waterways share similar seasonal flows with the most northern creeks being paddled later into the summer months. Consult with   Endless Adventure for the most up to date info on these and other area adventures.
